THAT’S WHERE I COME IN

Whoever decided that getting and staying healthy had to be painful, sucky and full of deprivation was just wrong!

I’m proof that it’s possible to be a real person who eats bacon and cake and drinks a few beers but still lives a healthy life that adds up to feeling good AND enjoying life. It takes simple, small changes over time that add up to huge results.

NON-NEGOTIABLES

It’s been working for me for years – getting in daily activity has me feeling good, strong, and confident in my own skin, without the stress of dieting and counting calories.

Plus, since I aim for only 30 minutes (2% of the day when you break it down) I still have my free time for the Real Housewives, keeping my amateur foodie status – those charcuterie boards ain’t gonna make themselves, and attempting to turn my thumb green. Garden results vary… cucumbers? I GOT YOU! Tomatoes? Not so much.

 

 

WHAT I’VE FOUND

I know what you’re thinking – that I’m probably just one of “those people” who has great genetics so I can eat bacon and cake anyways. But let me stop you right there! The whole reason I began this journey is because of my family history of obesity; genetics are NOT on my side.

Instead, I’ve found that moving every day has a trickle-down effect to other areas of life. Sometimes I leave a couple bites of dessert left on the plate; my 30min streak is currently more than a year long (we all fall off the wagon, but it’s about planning for when you do!); and I don’t feel shame for my body or envy for the models while perusing the magazine covers in the checkout line.

Because I’ve made these changes myself and for years I’ve coached people to better health, I’ve seen the confidence levels rise, I’ve witnessed the shifts in mentality, and I’ve watched as people change into the people they’ve always wanted to be.

ENERGY & OPTIMISM

To say I have a bubbly, energetic personality is putting it mildly. I’ll be your biggest cheerleader, albeit with some occasional sass, and coach you to your version of healthy. I already believe in you 1,000% and will continue believing in you even as you grow to believe in and trust yourself.

I have a passion for helping you find the healthier you – both physically and mentally – you’ve been looking for. With my style of coaching, your results might even have you looking forward to your next workout!

Experience

Ever since I became interested in health and fitness, I’ve been helping family and friends find their versions of healthy… but it was only a hobby. I’ve stepped into it as a professional coach because I know helping people via coaching is what I’m meant to do.

For nearly five years I was a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Missouri where I helped elite athletes push thier bodies to the limit. I designed and conducted workouts for multiple teams including the SEC Championship Volleyball team, as well as the Swimming and Diving programs.

I’ve also been a teaching assistant for a Master’s level Strength and Conditioning course at the University of Missouri since 2012.

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

In addition, I obtained my Masters of Education in Educational, School and Counseling Pschology with a Health Promotion emphasis from the University of Missouri.

Certification

I previously held the Certified Strenth and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as well as the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) designation from the Collegiate Stregnth and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa).
