Get Fit for Summer: Tips for Starting Small and Seeing Big Results
Summer is just around the corner, and if you’re looking to get in shape, now is the perfect time to start. While a complete lifestyle change may not be possible in the next month, you can definitely make significant progress by starting small and starting today. In this post, I’m going to share some tips on how to start getting in shape for summer.
Start Here
First things first, set a goal for yourself. What do you want to achieve? Maybe you want to lose a few pounds, tone up your muscles, or improve your cardiovascular endurance. Whatever your goal is, make it specific, measurable, and achievable. Once you have a goal in mind, you’ll have something to work towards and it will be easier to stay motivated.
Next, start incorporating some physical activity into your daily routine. You don’t need to start training for a marathon or lifting heavy weights at the gym – even just going for a 10-minute walk every day can make a big difference. The key is to start small and gradually increase the intensity and duration of your workouts as you get stronger.
I always recommend starting with exercise because it’s the easiest and simplest – all you have to do is get moving!! (we can tackle nutrition, sleep, stress, and allllll the other things once daily movement is a habit)
Another tip for getting in shape for summer is to find a workout buddy. Having someone to exercise with can make it more fun and keep you accountable. Plus, it’s always nice to have someone to celebrate your successes with.
In addition to a workout buddy (aka accountability partner) for getting in shape for summer is to mix things up. Doing the same workout routine day after day can get boring, and your body may adapt and stop seeing results. Try incorporating different types of exercise, such as yoga, swimming, or cycling, to keep things interesting and challenge your body in new ways.
And finally, don’t forget to celebrate your progress along the way! Getting in shape is a journey, and it’s important to acknowledge your accomplishments and give yourself credit for the hard work you’re putting in. Whether it’s treating yourself to a new workout outfit or celebrating with an extra Audible credit, find ways to reward yourself for your progress.
In summary, getting in shape for summer is definitely doable, even if you’re starting small and starting today. Set a goal, start incorporating physical activity into your daily routine, find a workout buddy, mix things up, and celebrate your progress along the way. With these tips, you’ll be well on your way to feeling your best this summer!
