Stop Chasing Quick Fixes: The Real Reason Your Health Goals Feel Out of Reach

Mar 20, 2025 | Consistency, Ownership

How many times have you thought, If I could just fix this one thing, then I’d finally get the results I want? Maybe it’s your schedule. Maybe it’s your busy life. Maybe it’s your sweet tooth. Or maybe… it’s none of those things. Maybe it’s some of that and a whole lot of not eating enough protein & fiber to stay full, waiting until you’re starving to figure out what to eat, and thinking you need a ‘perfect’ plan to be successful.

The Hard Truth

The truth is, most people don’t fail because they’re too busy. They fail because they’re trying to follow a plan that doesn’t actually fit their life. They get sucked into the idea that they just need to tweak one more thing—their hormones, their macros, their meal timing, their fasting window—and then finally the weight will come off, the energy will return, and they’ll feel amazing. But that’s just another distraction.

If you spend any time on social media, you’ve seen the latest and greatest health trends popping up. First, it was keto. Then intermittent fasting. Then the blood type diet (remember that one?). Now, people are wearing continuous glucose monitors even if they don’t have diabetes. And, of course, there’s the rise of GLP-1 medications (which is a topic for another day). The point is—there’s always going to be something new marketed as the missing piece. But the reality? There is no magic missing piece.

The Basics Work

No diet, tracker, medication, or trendy hack will replace consistently nailing the basics over time. No matter how advanced the industry gets, the foundation of good health remains the same: eat enough protein and fiber to stay full, move your body daily, get quality sleep, drink water, and manage stress. These are the unsexy truths that don’t get flashy marketing campaigns, but they are what actually work.

And here’s the kicker: the sooner we accept that, the sooner we can start making real progress. The longer we chase the next thing, the more time we waste not building habits that actually last. Instead of searching for the perfect plan, focus on making small changes that fit your life—changes you can actually keep up with.

So if you’ve been waiting for the right plan, the perfect time, or the missing piece—this is your reminder that you don’t need any of that. What you need is to start. Start eating more protein. Start planning meals before you feel ravenous. Start moving in ways you enjoy. Start building habits that work for you.

Because the real secret? The basics, done consistently, will take you further than any trendy quick fix ever will.
